Art and Design Intent

At Peakirk-cum-Glinton, we recognise that Art and Design stimulates creativity and imagination. It provides visual, tactile and sensory experiences and a unique way of understanding and responding to the world. Through art and design, our pupils learn to make informed valued judgments, aesthetic and practical decisions and become actively involved in shaping their environments. We encourage children to explore ideas and meanings through the work of a range of artists and designers. The appreciation and enjoyment of the visual arts enriches all our lives. Here at Peakirk-cum-Glinton we aim to encourage logical, analytical thoughts and foster curiosity though exploring different artists from many different cultures. We provide our pupils with the opportunity to communicate their imagination, original thought, personal expression and observation in art.
