Visions and Values

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens.

Mission Statement

In our Church Aided School we aim to welcome all children into a caring Christian environment, in which they are able to develop their full potential and in which attitudes of mutual respect and responsibility are promoted.

Ethos Statement

‘Recognising its historic foundation, Peakirk cum Glinton School will preserve and develop its religious character in accordance with the principles of the Church of England, which includes respecting other faiths and in partnership with St Pega’s Church Peakirk, St Benedict’s Church Glinton and the Diocese of Peterborough.

The school aims to serve the community of Peakirk and Glinton by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian beliefs and practice. It encourages an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith and promotes Christian values through the experience it offers to all its pupils.’

Children need values by which to live – true values against which to evaluate the world and its ways.  These values cannot be imposed, but should come from within, from the child’s inherent strength and as such must be nurtured.  As a Church School we recognise these as Christian values, as demonstrated in Jesus’ life.  However, research has also identified these values as those accepted and upheld throughout the world, by members of all faiths and none, as universal values which support happy, well-adjusted, socially integrated and morally responsible lives.

Our expectations are very high – and it is right that they should be – but what wonderful and worthwhile aims to uphold and work towards.  This is the vision of our whole school community – staff, parents, governors, church and children – working together to achieve.
